Former Progressive Conservative leader Patrick Brown is taking aim at those who felled him.Brown, who resigned early on Jan. 25 hours after CTV News broadcast a story alleging sexual impropriety with two women, is writing a tell-all book about his “political assassination.”“We were making great strides towards a more inclusive, modern, business-savvy Ontario. Yes, it appeared I would be premier of Canada’s largest province by age 40,” Brown said in news release Thursday.“Instead, on Jan. 24 … I was all but assassinated in public. Who did it, how, and why? This is a story of betrayal, blackmail, and backroom politicking involving some of Canada’s biggest political names. This was my dream, this was my nightmare,” he said.“I’m Patrick Brown, and this is my story.” Titled Take Down, The Political Assassination of Patrick Brown, the hardcover tome will be published by OPI in November.“Brown’s book will address how allies, friends, caucus members and political opponents were instrumental in his downfall in the moment of crises and months leading to (it),” publisher Dean Baxendale said.The former leader, who was succeeded by Doug Ford on March 10, is suing CTV News for $8 million. CTV has said it stands by its story.Brown, who has resigned from provincial politics, is living quietly in Mississauga with his fiancée.Sources told the Star that Brown, who is popular in Ontario’s cultural communities, is being wooed to run as the elected chair of Peel Region in October, but he is believed to be non-committal.Campaigning in Ottawa for the June 7 election, Liberal Leader Kathleen Wynne said she was looking forward to hearing what Brown has to say.“If he writes it, I will read it,” said Wynne, who also read Ford’s 2016 memoir, Ford Nation: Two Brothers, One Vision — The True Story of the People`s Mayor, which was co-authored with his late brother, Rob F ...
